How to switch ethernet input port without rebooting?

Fellow Alpha managers,

Is it possible to switch the ethernet input port from thick net to 10baseT
without rebooting? I have a DEC Alphaserver 2100 running DU4.0b with the
standard DEC Tulip 10 Mbit interface. I believe the card auto-senses which
port is connected, and only activates that port.
