Message when an account is flagged as u_lock in edauth?

Hello all.

When an account has the u_lock field set to true in the auth database
the user gets a message such as

Account is disabled -- see Account Administrator.

I have two questions with this

    1) Is there some way to NOTIFY the system administrators when
       someone tried to login and got the disabled message?
       A message logged to the syslog would be ideal. Does anyone
       know if this is possible?

    2) Can I change the message? We have a help desk here where
       people who get locked out of their account can go for
       assistance. It would be better if the message would allow
       me to tell the locked out user directly where to go for help.
