Hi managers,
A recommendation has been made that the SCSI BUS speed on which the Tape
Device is on should be set to slow. Please note though that the same bus
also has RZ29B disks on it.
The reason for doing this is because we have been encountering
intermittent CAM SCSI errors while doing backups. Termination has been
checked, SCSI Bus length checked, tape firmware upgraded, cleaning tape
used, tape device replaced, and still the CAM SCSI errors continue.
I would like to know if setting the BUS speed to slow would also affect
the performance of the disks on that bus? The hardware engineer involved
says no. Your opinions would be much appreciated.
Regards
Paulo
