I asked whether I had to make kernel mods to 3.2C in order to support
a second processor on a 2100. Thanks to:

for their speedy and helpful answers. Pretty much, the answer is no,
you don't have to do anything, but you can boot under genvmunix and
run doconfig if it makes you feel better (so I did). You do have to
register the OSF-BASE PAK for the second CPU. You might have to set
the PROM variable `cpu_enabled' to "ff" if it is not already that
value (mine was, I understand that's the default for 2100s).
And, if you are running a copy of monitor from The Mists Before Time,
as I was, you need to ftp a new one from gatekeeper.dec.com that knows
about multiple CPUs (this greatly worried my boss, who thought our
first CPU had disappeared).
