This is VERY strange (to me anyway). I was working away on my NCD X-tube,
I pulled down a bookmark menu on Netscape and the terminal hung. Nothing
would work at that point. I just power cycled it to reboot since I couldn't
get a mouse click response from *anything*.
Once I got back to the login chooser window, I started a telnet session
to my host with no problem. I killed all the processes that were hanging
around, rebooted by tube again, just to be safe, and tried to log in.
No good. When I enter my hosts IP address and click OK, I get a response
in that my screen goes black and the cursor changes to an hourglass, but
that's all. No login prompt from xdm.
I can log in as me from the system console, but I can't get anything on
my own tube. I can still run telnet sessions on my tube, as that's how
I'm sending this mail.
Is there a lock file, or something similar that I need to manually delete
before I can get my X session working again?
Any help would be most appreciated.
