Hi,
We have just relocated our lab and all our machines seem to have come up
fine. The problem now is the printer. It's a DEC 5100, and has always
given some problem or the other, but seemed to work until now. It is
hooked up via a serial cable to a VAX/VMS machine and is on the network
with an ethernet card. It prints fine via the VAX. When I try to print
via the network, no luck.
I know the network is configured correctly because it spits out a
configuration page with the correct information. No IP etc., have been
changed, just the location of the equipment.
The error I am getting from my alphas is as follows:
/dev/nic/franklin still trying to connect to benjamin after 20 tries
I am not across a repeater. It is the same wire connecting the alphas and
the printer. The printer comes with it's own driver to print, and doesn't
use the traditional lpd (It's really messed up, but as long as it
works...) .
Any help is appreciated.
Sincerely
Santosh Krishnan
