Hi all:
Thanks to all who responded to my query about centralized backup. The
vast majority of folks recommended we use DECnsr (Digital's version of
Legato NetWorker). It has clients for DU, Ultrix, Win95, Win3.1, Mac,
and lots of others. Caveats are that there is a licence fee for each
client ($200?) and it reputedly will bring ethernet to a standstill.
A few folks mentioned IBM's ADSM, but since they do not yet have a
server that runs under DEC Unix, it's not an option for us.
As for hardware, the only thing that seems affordable and with enough
capacity is a DLT Jukebox.
Thanks again!
Cheers,
--Lee
