Hello,
I hope this sounds easy. I came from a Sun
environment a few years ago and have been
with DU since. I only recently installed yp
on a couple of machines for testing. When I
try to change the password for a user (I am
logged in as root) I am being prompted for
the old NIS password. And, since I don't have
that password, which is why the user came to
me in the first place, I end up having to clear out
the password field in the passwd file, then
running the yppasswd command. I remember being
able to just run:
yppasswd <user>
on Sun and not be prompted for the old password.
Is there a workaround or fix on DU that I can
get for this?
Thanks,
