Hardware compatibility

I am upgrading my AlphaServer 2000 5/300 to an AlphaServer 4100 5/466. Am I
going to be able to pull the disks from one and install in the other -- and use
the software that engineers have built and installed on those disks? Or am I
looking at rebuilding all (or at least some) third party/home grown software?
