Sending Mail to ALLIN1

        I am currently working on setting up mail from our
        Alpha 2100 v3.2c to an ALLIN1 mailing system (VMS with IP), I can
        send to a users VMS account without a problem using SMTP,
        however am experiencing some pain trying to send to ALLIN1
        as the mail addresses are of the format "Surname Firstname",
        consequently everytime I send anything it spits it out
        because it thinks the space in the address is a separator,
        anyone out there had any success with this ???????????????
