Modem Configuration

Hai friends,

I need your help to configure a modem for AS-2100A 5/300, DU 4.0B.

I have added the following line in /etc/inittab,

m1:23:respawn:/usr/lib/uucp/uugetty -r -t 30 ttyd0 9600
m2:23:respawn:/usr/lib/uucp/uugetty -r -t 30 ttyd1 9600

but when I tried to MAKEDEV ttyd0 and ttyd1 it shows an error

MAKEDEV: special file(s) for ttyd:
MAKEDEV: unknown device in ttyd:
