This list is the BEST ! ( I know that is not news, but I have to say it.)

I got many answers to my problem of how to initiate a job at boot time
from:

Rene Landert
Roger Picard
Tom Rioux
Marie-Claude Vialatte
Joshua Rowe
Steven Johnson
Dick Joltes
alan_at_nabeth.cxo.dec.com
Christian Miranda
Matt Moore
Dr Tom Blinn
Peter Chapin
Barb Baker
Mandell Degerness
John Pritchard
Jim Belonis
Craig I. Hagan
Steve Gibbons

Many thanks to you all.

I needed to know how to start a job at boot time on my 3.2c Alpha web-server,
that would fetch a graphics file from a web-server camera every 15 minutes.
Since that job has the logic to wake up every 15 minutes, I concluded from
the replies that creating a file in /sbin/init.d, and creating a symbolic link
to it in /sbin/rc3.d, and another in /sbin/rc0.d, is more appropriate than
cron and crontab.
