I've had a major crash on a key server. ADVFS is reporting 'no
free mcells on next page' followed by a kernel panic and back to prompt.
This is one of the disk volumes on the /usr file system. I can boot
single user and mount /usr, even manipulate some files, but if I touch the
wrong one, down I go. I'm trying to back up the mail spool to tape as I
write this, in the event I have to do a restore of the /usr partition from
an old tape backup. So far, that, at least, is working. I've run msfsck
from /usr/field and turned up some 'bad bitmap' errors, vchkdir goes into
an apparently endless loop reporting 'possible lost file found'. Any
suggestions other than a restore from tape would be very welcome. Thanks.
