First: I'm sorry I didn't mention the CD was nfs-monted from A without
root-export to B.
As it was a read-only disk I thought it had no importance, but the problem
is root A maps to nobody on B, see man exports.
Additionally I had to remove the OSFX11410 on B, because setld reported it
"corrupt" before the installation succeeded.

It appears to be failing because pax(1) doesn't have permission
to the specified components of the kit. Is the CDROM mounted
locally or via NFS? The V4 installation changed from having the
subsets be compressed tar archives to fully expanded files. When
you NFS mount it, root needs world read access to every file
when it is mapped to "nobody". Using the /etc/exports option
to map remote roots to the local root is the solution.
