Hi all,
My config:
Server: Alpha 250 4/266 w. DU3.2c
Clients: Win95 PC's running eXceed, REXEC'ing dxterm
A "smart" user finally got fed up with me not making the F1->F4 keys work
under DECTerm, and played around with xmodmap himself.
At present the keys are so messed up in his config that his keyboard is
unusable. None of the keys do what they should.
As a novice admin, I haven't had the opportunity to look into the keyboard
mapping utils, and am in a position where I need to get this user
productive again real quick.
I have figured out that I probably need to place a call to xmodmap in his
startup files, calling a file that undoes what he did.
I have two requests.
1) could someone please tell me an easy way to reset his terminal?
2) I would appreciate the xmodmap commands that would let me set up the F
keys so that this doesn't happen again. I could probably figure this out
myself, but it might take a while...
Thanks,
Jason Birch
PS. Is the keymapping associated with his IP or something else? He can
login elsewhere with no problems. I _could_ change his IP temporarily as a
quick fix if that would do it.
