Hallo,

thanks once more for the quick answer and solution to :

Alexander, Robert <ralexander_at_shl.com>

Your UID is 12 - and so is the id for the wnn account. That account is
*NEW* with DU 4.0x...
Change your id to something other than 12- we usually use id's greater
than 100 for user accounts (provides
the OS people some room to make their own changes!)

You seem to have cleverly chosen a UID in the reserved range. Change your
own UID in the /etc/passwd file to something like 100 (or above), then you
can fix your directory hierarchy to be owned by bbp and things will be
just
fine (but be sure to look for all files in the file system that are owned
by
the wnn account and change the ones that are really yours to bbp).

I change the passwd entry for bbp to 100,
do chown 100 (not bbp, it doesn't work) for all files and directories
that should be owned by bbp and all things seem to be o.k.

By the way :
A little try of vindication

I didn't choose this UID by my own. When I add the first user as a new
afs manager 12 was the Default and because I thought the system would know
what would be good for its users I took what it said ! :

# adduser

Enter a login name for the new user (for example, john): bbp
Enter a UID for (bbp) [12]:
Enter a full name for (bbp): Birgitt Boersch-Pulm
Enter a login group for (bbp) [users]:
.
.

Thanks to all of you who helped me
