strange problem with HPlaserjet 4vc printing ps file

hi,
I have a alphastation 255 running DU4.0B, and a HPlaserjet 4vc
connected to the LPT1 of the AS255.

days ago I can print PS file on that printer using a input filter
hplaser4psof, but now, I cann't print ps file correctly, as well as
plain text file: after a long time waitting, the printer
gives many pages each with a text line.

this is very strange for me, it will be very appreciated
if any of you tell me the solution.
