Q: how to change UID under C2

Hi

I have to change some User ID in order to unify UID's among servers
and clients. We are running DU 4.0B and C2.

        Before C2, I would just edit /etc/passwd. Under C2 but before DU4.0B,
I would also edit the individual files below /tcb/files/auth/*. However, DU4.0B
keeps what was in those files in a database file that should not be edited.
Is there anyway of just modifying the User ID without retiring the user and
recreating it with a new UID?

TIA Philippe
