Problem in Cron Entry

When I use a range for dates in a month for Example 1 2-31 ( January
between 2nd 31st) in the crontab, it does not work. The job gets
submitted more than once. I did a test with different dates, but the job
ran on one day!.
Following is my Crontab test file:

# minute hour monthday month weekday command
# 0-59 0-23 1-31 1-12 0-6,0=Sunday
#
# Fields are separated by spaces or tabs.
# Each of the first five fields can be either an asterisk (*), meaning
# all legal values, or a list of elements separated by commas.
#
# Test file for Cron input testing
34 11 * * 1-5 ls
35 11 19 12 1-5 ls
36 11 20 12 1-5 ls
37 11 21 12 1-5 ls
38 11 22 12 1-5 ls
#46 11 1-24 12 1-5 ls
47 11 30-31 12 1-5 ls
#48 11 2-31 1 1-5 ls

In the above file though the date was set for 19-22 Dec, the job ran on
19th itself. Has any one encountered similar problem?.

Thanks
