Thanks to this great list and its prompt respondents! I had answers in no
time!
My original questions:

It seems that this odd error was mainly due to the fact that I still have
to execute "runecu" from the console mode AGAIN after the firmware
upgrade, save the settings and then exit.
Some respondents also suggested that they have experienced problems
related to the firmware upgrade, particularly the version 3.7. Most of
them suggested to visit the site below for the latest firmware updates.
