Move server to an other box

Hi osf-managers,

I'm going to replace my dec 3000 model 400 (DU 3.2c with C2) by an
alphaserver 4000 5/300 (DU 4.0 with C2).

So i have to move dns server, ftp server, samba ,CAP, tex, pop server ,
matlab, femlab, .... and so on and about 1000 accounts.

Do i have to reinstall all softs ?
WHat is the best strategy in order to reduce this work ?
Can i restore password file and tcb/files/auth directory ?
