Backing up 120GB with DU3.2C/Oracle/TZ877

Hello all.

I am looking for an optimal solution to backing up about 120GB worth
of data (mostly Oracle data files) using a TZ877 tape stacker.

To this point, I have not been able to get the stacker to
automatically change tapes once a tape has become full. Digital
support says it is a bug in "vdump" which will be fixed in a later
release. Sure. They informed me that the best way to use the tape
stacker is by purchasing NSR. There is no problem in doing this, but
the backup requirements are very simple: when a tape gets full, grab
the next one.

So: has anyone found a reliable way of doing this?

Additionally, I understand that there is an Oracle product which
allows you to back up database files while leaving Oracle online
("obackup"?).

Can anyone offer any suggestions on backing up large volumes of Oracle
data, while leaving Oracle up?

System details:
        Alpha 2100/250
        512 MB RAM
        DU 3.2C
        Oracle 7.1.6

thanks in advance,

Matt
