Hi Everyone,
We are having a some really bizarre problems and could use some
suggestions. We are trying to put an SMC 100MB ethernet card into one of
our alpha 1000. Here are the specifics:
Alpha 1000
DU 3.2d
Cisco Pro switch (10/100)
SMC Fast Ether.
To set it up we went into the >> prompt and set ewa0_mode FastFD and then
in rc.config added IFCONFIG_0="X.X.X.X netmask 255.255.255.0 speed 200" -
we have also tried just about every variation and combination.
The sysmptoms are as follows. We are able to get the machine to recognize
the card and are able to ping in and out to and from other NON DU machines
on our network but are unable to ping in and out from our other Alpha servers.
Now when we have the 10MB card in the Alpha everything works great and all
machines on the network and get to the machine.
If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.
