Booting from a new SCSI-ID

Dear Managers,

For some reasons I changed the SCIS-ID of the bootdisk and the
bootdef_dev of a new AlphaStation 255. After Powerup the machine boots
into single user mode complaining a bad magic number, because in the
/etc/fstab the old SCSI-ID is used. Mounting the filesystem and
correcting /etc/fstab doesn't work, because /dev/rz2* doesn't exist.
Creating these device files fails as well, the / filesystem is mounted
ro.

Is there any trick, or do I have to change the SCSI-ID to its initial
value?

TIA
Gerhard
