The answer is simple: C2 imposes that limit, although a simple modification
to adduser allows you to use longer usernames in BASE mode (with
unpredictable results, but it GENERALLY works).
I suppose a modification to the C2 routines should make it work as
unpredictable as the patch in BASE. I know the solution resides in
modifying the "L_cuserid" define in stdio.h but i need sources for the
programs/functions that use this define as a parameter (for instance
cuserid). Greets,
