onboard AS255 Ethernet: 10 or 10/100?

Hi. I'm wondering whether the onboard Ethernet controllers on
recent AlphaStation 255s are 10/100Base-T or just 10base-T. The
hardware manual barely mentions the Ethernet port. Digital's
web site says it's 10Base-T, but it seems to be the same chipset
as their PCI 10/100 card (`Tulip'), and at boot time it claims to
be a "Fast Ethernet Intarface". So I'm not sure.

Also, can anyone tell me how to select the port (AUI versus
10/100Base-T) on a DEC 10/100 Fast Ethernet card that has two ports?
The manual that shipped with it (1) describes a version of the card
that only has a 10Base-T connector, and (2) only talks about
configuring the card by software - under DOS! No mention of Digital
Unix at all. At boot time, there's a message that the card is
console mode: selecting 10Base5 (AUI) port: no carrier
despite the fact that there's a 10BaseT cable plugged in, connected
to a live, happy network.

I'll summarize, of course.

Thanks,

Jay Sekora
