Hi,

This problem is two-fold

Firstly,I have an Alpha 2100 4/200 running DU 3.2C with 256 MB of memory.
The following error message appears consistently at the console "fork/procdup: task_create_failed. Code 0x11"

Has anyone encountered such an error? Maxusers is set to 96.
Au average user load is between 45-50.

Secondly, I have a tape drive (8mm) connected to an Alpha 2100 A500MP system running DU 3.2C with 192MB of memory. I have consistently tried (for the past week) to back a 200MB file to this tape drive (using all of cpio,dd,tar, dump). All have failed. I have since compressed this file to approx. 100MB and still failure to backup to the tape drive. The errors that appear are :

SIOP ) Illegal Instruction:[0/t/10 siop-printop. PC-0xe14 (0x1000f14)-
Loading SIOP - script 1000100, reg 81000100, data 4065e0a8.

Active CCB at time of error
CCB request completed with an error

The tape drive is connected to the internal SCSI bus with a 6 foot cable. In addition to the tape drive, other devices connected to the bus are 4 RZ28 drives and 1 RRD43 CD-ROM ( all internal). The tape drive is external.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Susan
