Update: X11, won't start; suggestions?

after doing that the system replyed ...

This suggests a problem with the configuration/installation
of the OS. There are no sockets avilable. If the xserver
cannot make a reliable connection using sockets, it will
attempt to use an alternate connection mechanism (like streams)...

it sounds out of the ordinary.
