Binary compatibility

I'm planning to replace one of my DEC3000/500S with the new
AlphaServer1000A. I'm
currently running DU3.2c and would like to run that version with the
1000A - at least for a
while. Do you know if the binaries between the two machines are
identical or do I have to
reinstall/recompile all the software from the current 3000?
