Long time ago I posted about problems using a #9 Graphics Engine EISA card
in a Alpha 4/275. Booting up was a hit and miss affair - with the console
hanging with a screen of vertical white stripes on a blue background.

This card was never supported on a DU configuration (our box was converted
from an NT).

Well the good news is that FIRMWARE CD 3.8 has fixed this problem - now
this card works fine when configured with ECU as standard VGA and we can
run CDE on the console with the basic 640x480 resolution which was all
we wanted really.

The bad news is that we had bought a replacement supported card
PB2GA (but not installed it) before we got the 3.8 CD ... c'est la vie !
