9Gb disks run slower than 4Gb???

Greetings,

My site has an AlphaServer 2100 5/375 RM running Digital UNIX 3.2c,
with RAIDsets on Digital StorageWorks HSZ40 & HSZ50 Controllers in
dual-redundant configuration.

Having recently purchased 10 x RZ1DB-CS (3 1/2 inch, 9Gb), and
installed and configured them as a 5-disk and 4-disk RAIDset,
my dear little ORACLE DBAs have the gall to tell me that they run
slower than other RAIDsets on the same array and controller
only using RZ29Bs (3 1/2 inch 4Gb)..

Has anyone else experienced similar complaints about performance
with these HUGE disks, or have I stuffed it somewhere???

TIA, fcG.
