stale NFS file handle

hello to all,

I have a problem. When I tried to change mode of files under
subdirectory level 3 ,it reported message " stale NFS file handle ".
Mode of all files under that sub directory are ----------.
I tried to change it. But I could not do that. How can I do to solve
this problem?
