Hello,
We are running into a problem with our ftp server on DU4.0B, the version
that I presume came with the operating system, i.e. 5.60.
A customer is running an ibm ftp program that converts a file from ebcdic
to ascii and then transfers it to our server. This file contains three
successive new lines, "0A0A0A", that are causing the transfer to time out
unfinished. The user at the other end has found that the reason for this
is that the error statements from our DU ftp server do not follow the RFC
ftp standards, which state that there should be a three-digit number and
then dash on the first line, then a second line which contains the same
number. I understand the number is missing on the second line, causing
the client software not to recognize the error.
Has anyone seen a solution to this? Has this been changed on DU4.0D,
so that we could copy the binary over from our 4.0D machine? Or is there
another server that handles the error correctly?
Thanks heaps,
Ann Cantelow
