Hi All
My question was:
Any recommendations for a reliable, fairly low cost UPS that will work
with DU 4.0[cd] on a PW 500au? Negative recommendations also welcome.
Thanks to Eric Sven Ristad, Colin Brooks, Tom Webster and
Claudia A T C Burg for their replies.
Eric recommended the Exide Powerware Prestige series which comes
with software that runs under Digital Unix. He did say they were
expensive though.
Colin and Claudia both recommended APC SmartUPS - Colin has a
1400 which is bigger than we need and Claudia has a 1000 which
is closer to the mark.
Tom recommended either APC or Best power but his warning about
hidden costs associated with the APC range is worth repeating:
> A UPS from either APC or Best power should work fine. APC (www.apcc.com)
> is the better known company, but keep in mind you will need to buy
> shutdown software and a special cable to use the UPS with DU, this runs

Best Power's Australian distributor is Sola (www.solaaust.com.au)
so I'll be checking out their range as well as the APC and
Exide ranges.
