configuring syslog on DUX 4.0d

Fellow managers:

This question might be a little outside the scope, but my other resources
have failed me. I am attempting to log all syslog messages from my Cisco
Pix firewall to my 4100 running 4.0d.

I have followed Cisco's directions, but I am unable to get the messages to
appear in the file I created (/var/log/pix/pixfirewall). My entry to the
/etc/syslog.conf file is :

local6.info /var/log/pix/pixfirewall

After I made the change, I issued the following command

kill -HUP `cat /var/run/syslog.pid`

to restart the syslogd and have it read from the updated /etc/syslog.conf
file.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have opened permissions to 777
on the directory "pix" and the file "pixfirewall".

Thanks
