How can I display an X Error Message from a script?

DUdes,

I have a shell script that runs under cron that checks for essential application processes
that have died. When I find one, I would like to pop up an X-Window on the root and remote
X displays as well with maybe an "OK" button to kill the window. Is there already an X tool
compiled to do this? Do I HAVE to write something in X-Motif or DX? I don't want to have to
install another toolkit like tcl/tk. I'm just trying to make it easy on myself. I had hoped
for an existing utility that supported the xview options such as bg color, fg color and -display
to send to a remote console.

 Please let me know,

 Thanks,
