C2 security - root password expired

This is in addition to Brian Hostetter's "Unexpiring user accounts"
message sent a short while ago....

After modifying one of the the default C2 (enhanced security) settings
in /etc/auth/system/default, the root password has become 'expired".
So far, we haven't seen anything that we can adjust in dxaccounts or
edauth for root's tcb entry, and we'd prefer not to boot the server in
single user mode if we don't have to.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
