Hi all,
My original question asked where I might find DNA KBIN400, DNA MOP400, and
DNA NETMAN400 in order to migrate the management of my old terminal servers
from VMS to DU. Thanks to the following kind folks for wonderful answers:
Brett Maruyama bmaruyam_at_datap.ca
Robert R. Schneider robert_at_brazos.pe.utexas.edu
Stephen LaBelle labelles_at_mscd.edu
Oyanarte Portilho portilho_at_fis.unb.br
Ron Babcock rbabcock_at_heyoka.cc.whecn.edu
Their combined answers tell me I don't have the CD in house. Happily, our
CSLG agreement gives us the license, so we just need to get the media.
Here is what I needed:

The DECnet-Plus software subsets are available on the Digital UNIX
Alpha Software Product Library CD-ROMs. Have you been looking on
the Associated Products CDs that ship with DU4.0D? The
Software Product Library CD-ROMs come in a separate box, similar
to the Documentation CD-ROMs. Once you have the correct CD mounted
(DECnet has been on CD 1 for as long as I have been installing it),
you should find what you are looking for in the dnaXXX directory.
We get all this stuff through our support contract with Digital,
I believe.

Those filesets are part of DECNET, you need the MOP functionality for
your terminal servers to load via MOP.
I am looking at the July 1998 Digital Unix Software Product Library
Condist. The product is named "DECnet-Plus for Digital Unix". Its on
CD #1 from that distribution in the directory /dna40b. Use setld to
load the filesets you need for MOP.
Also, you need to put the terminal server boot images into a directory
on your DU machine /usr/lib/mop. That directory mop does not exist,
you need to create it.
# ls -l /usr/lib/mop
total 1112
-r--r--r-- 1 root system 352640 Nov 18 1995 mx1500.sys
-r--r--r-- 1 root system 194560 Nov 18 1995 pr0801eng.sys
-r--r--r-- 1 root system 581120 Nov 18 1995 sh1601eng.sys
Above is what is in that directory on one of my systems, for 3 types
of terminal servers. You can just FTP over the needed images from
your VMS machine.

I set this up last week for some old 100's, 200's and 300's I've got. The
only thing I had to do was to install MOP only subsets and ftp over the
appropriate .SYS files from my VMS machine ( your kernel does need to
have LAT configured though ). The release notes give a good explanation of
the "MOP-Standalone Installation". The kit is on the first CD of the
Digital Unix/Alpha Software Product Library in the dna40a directory ( our
kit is over a year old though ... ).
