"netsetup" puts wrong entries in rc.config?

Has anyone had problems with netsetup (DU 4.0D) putting incorrect netmask
entries in /etc/rc.config?

In the course of trying to debug a kerberos problem I examined /etc/rc.config
and found that on one of 5 identically configured hosts the primary interface
with a Class C address has the netmask 255.0.0.0 (!)

I also found that on two other systems of this set of 5 a secondary interface
which is supposed to be Class A has a netmask of 255.255.255.0.

I have been known to make mistakes, but I don't think it's possible that I
could
have made all three of these mistakes on three separate machines. I recall
past instances (in some previous incarnation of DEC setup scripts) where
a setup script wrote incorrect values to a file, and so I'm suspicious that
there might be a bug in netsetup.

Anyone? TIA.
