Only one responded to this one -- thanks Jon.

Original question:

Does anyone have any experience using AMD? How does it stack up against the recent version (DU
4.0D) of DEC's automounter? If it is worth having, where can I get it? -- I believe it's
freeware.

I've used amd quite a bit, but not on Digital Unix. We use it mainly on
RedHat Linux and SunOS systems. It is freeware, under the GNU public
license. There are also prebuilt binaries in rpm form if you prefer those.
Once you get used to the map language, it works fairly well, however it
isn't very happy when it gets a request that it doesn't know how to handle.
