Internet service

Hi.
Does anyone know about a tool (or the way I can do it) that allow me to
"mesure" the characteristics of the ALPHA Server I need in order to give an
internet service (web) access for several users?

What I mean is I don´t wanna have my server overloaded (busy and slow)
because of the number of hits my site will have in the future (we hope!)?
