There were about three different solutions presented to me:
1) Buy a Alpha laptop, such as the Tadpole AlphaBook to act as the UNIX
server. It supports all current and future flavors of Digital UNIX
coming down the line. Information on these can be found at
www.tadpole.com.
2) Send along with the machine an LCD monitor, which is much easier to
pack along than traditional monitors. I've actually been looking at LCD
monitors, and the smaller ones are starting to come down into a
reasonable price range. That could be a possible option available to
us.
3) Connect a laptop up to the serial port of the UNIX box and make a
serial connection using a terminal emulator (such as Hyperterm or
QVT-Term). This will probably be the easiest thing to do. It was
actually one of those "so obvious I didn't see it" types.
Thanks again for all of your help!
