colorodo 250 backup error

to whom it may concern
i have a colorodo 250 and every time i try to format it tells me there is an
error,the error is edge seek fail.can u help ,i have been told that i have
to use a colorodo 250 back up tape.is this true and if it is where can i get
these tapes? i appreciate any help u can give
me with this problem.
