Changing spool directories for sendmail V8.8

When one is collecting mail for several zones on on machine, can sendmail
be configured so that the mail for each zone goes into a different spool
directory, say for example:

/var/spool/mail/zone1/user1
                     /user2
...
                     /usern
.
.
.
/var/spool/mail/zonen/usern

?

I know that there are changes to be made to DNS and to sendmail to allow
"masquerading", but I'm not sure how to get the mail for each user to wind
up in a directory structure like above.

Any help will be appreciated.
