Printer problem

I have run into this problem twice in the past six months. The following
message is the result of lpq -Pxerox .

*** | Unknown Identification
    | problematic object: printer-name

 I have no idea what it is referring to. As you can see by the printcap
entry below, nothing is out of the ordinary.

        :lf=/usr/adm/lp1err:\
        :lp=:\
        :mx#0:\
        :rm={printer_ip}:\
        :rp=raw:\
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/xerox:\
        :sh:

Can anyone shed some light on this matter?
