The problem was that the quota system was out of sync.

A quick solution is to run quotacheck on the offending domain. This
should immediately reveal the missing disk space.

The original question was:

When I run "df" on one of the AdvFS defined on my system (4.0B) I get
that it is almost full, while "du" shows that just one third of it
has been used.
I ran the command "verify" to repair the file system but it didn't help.
A dump of the "verify" command shows that indeed just one third of the
file system has been used.

Is there any way to fix this file system beside reformatting it ?
