I got three quick replies, but am still no closer to a solution.  I've
logged a call with Compaq and they're going to try and figure out why
this doesn't work.

This is definitely a Ultra capable pedestal with the right dual bus
configuration.  The cables are in the right way.  At this stage i
don't think it's hardware failure on the module, or misconfigured
jumper termination but will let Compaq try and figure it out.  In
the meantime i've backed out to using Fast-Wide in the old chassis.
