Hello to you all,

First my special thanks to Steve Copeland, Oyanarte Portilho and Dejan
Muhamedagic who guided my out this problem !!

My question was:
* When I want to unlock on of my accounts with the
dxaccounts-Application, I receive the following message:
"The password and group file are currently locked by another
          user. Please try again later"
   * When I try to make the changes with the "vipw-command", I receive
     this message:
          "password file busy"
   * I already made a quick search through the mailing list archives,
where I've found slightly similar problems and answers but they
don't seem to help me out:
          -I don't have a "/etc/.AM_is_running" file
          -I don't have "yp" installed
          -I've already installed a patch (OSF410DX-400010, e.g patch
          240.00)
   * But when I rebooted my system, I've noticed the following message
     on the console:
          Mounting Memory Filesystem
rw-r--r-- root system "a date in July" /etc/passwd

The answer:

In fact one has to remove a file called /etc/ptmp. But in my case I
didn't have that file, only a DIRECTORIE ???? called /etc/ptmp. Within
it I've found a file called group.new.
I deleted that one and all is working fine now.
After I rebooted my system to check the problem about the MFS, I noticed
it seemed to be disappeared.

Once again thanks for helping me out

Chris
