SUMMARY: memory for alphas

I asked the group to recommend a good quality memory manufacturer for DEC AlphaStations. The
responses were varied and included Dataram, Anacapa, Camintonn, DEC, Viking, and Kingston, but
the favorite by far was Kingston, then Viking. Many said that Kingston has been very reliable
and none mentioned any trouble with it. One person had serious trouble with Viking memory --
their system began to panic periodically when the memory was installed but resumed normal
operation when it was replaced with Kingston. Another warned that DEC won't service a machine
until the non_DEC memory is removed.

I'm going with Kingston. As an aside, I read on the Kingston web page (www.kingston.com) that
the founder of Kingston had previously developed components for DEC systems. Familiarity can be
a good thing.
