Hi All,
Earlier, I logged a call to Compaq about adding 9 gig disks to a BA356
shelf that already had 4 gig disks, make a seperate raid set out of the
9 gigs and then add the raid set to the 4 gig advfs domain. In a nutshell,
he said it wouldn't work. Anyway, the conversation went on saying that
there is
a restriction with the KZPSA and ADVFS in that ADVFS can only be a
maximum of 32GIG. He told me there was another scsi card I can put in
the 8400 that would get by the 32GIG restriction, but the database was down
and he couldn't look it up. So, before I log another call, does anyone know
what that SCSI card is and what would be the limitation? Would the
limitation of the 32GIG still be in effect if I used UFS instead of ADVFS?
FYI I'm now looking into purchasing 18gig disks instead of the 9gig and
making them go through their own HSZ's and own SCSI card, but I need
to know the SCSI card to get. We need to build atleast a 100GIG raid
set and be able to add to it down the road.
thanks,
Allan
